Cosmetic Peptide Topical Anti-Wrinkle

Snap-8

Also known as: SNAP-8 · Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-3 · Leuphasyl-Argireline · Syn-Ake alternative

Snap-8 competes with SNAP-25 (synaptosomal-associated protein 25 kDa) for binding sites in the SNARE complex (SNAP-25, syntaxin, synaptobrevin) that forms the machinery for neurotransmitter vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. By competing with SNAP-25 binding, Snap-8 partially inhibits acetylcholine release...

What It Is

Snap-8 competes with SNAP-25 (synaptosomal-associated protein 25 kDa) for binding sites in the SNARE complex (SNAP-25, syntaxin, synaptobrevin) that forms the machinery for neurotransmitter vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. By competing with SNAP-25 binding, Snap-8 partially inhibits acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction in facial muscles, resulting in reduced muscle contraction intensity — mimicking the local relaxant effect of botulinum toxin (Botox) but via a reversible, competitive mechanism. This reduces dynamic wrinkle formation from repeated muscle movement (expression lines). Snap-8 has a two-amino-acid longer sequence than Argireline, potentially offering better membrane penetration and efficacy.

Weekly Timeline

Week Expected Effects
Week 1 No visible changes yet; peptide accumulating in skin
Week 2 Early softening of expression lines with consistent twice-daily use
Week 4 Measurable wrinkle depth reduction; lines less pronounced at rest
Week 8 Optimal results; sustained wrinkle reduction with continued use; may prevent new line formation

Injection Technique & Reconstitution

  1. Snap-8 is supplied as a powder or pre-dissolved solution for topical formulation
  2. Dissolve in distilled water or serum base at desired percentage (2u201310%)
  3. Mix into finished serum, cream, or lotion formulation at room temperature
  4. Avoid high temperatures (>40u00b0C) which may degrade peptide
  5. Store finished formulation in airless pump or dark glass container at room temperature; refrigerate for longevity
